WARM UP  It may look snowy here, but a rise in atmospheric carbon dioxide directly increased the amount of thermal radiation striking this site near Alaska’s northernmost tip, new research finds.

For the first time, scientists have witnessed a direct connection between rising levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide and an increase in the amount of thermal radiation striking Earth’s surface.
