It’s usually nice to have a companion. And in the lonely, dark expanse of the early universe, even some of the first stars had soul mates, new simulations reveal.
STELLAR COMPANION A simulation of a star-forming region about 200 million years after the Big Bang shows two embryonic stars (yellow), each about five times the mass of the sun and separated by 800 times the Earth-sun distance.
