Bull sharks and bottlenose dolphins are moving north as the ocean warms

The migration of marine predators could alter food webs in their newly adopted ecosystems

BIG LEAP  Bottlenose dolphins were spotted in 2017 off Vancouver Island following a period of warming. It was the first sighting of the warm-water species so far north in Canadian Pacific waters.

Far from their usual tropical waters, some 200 bottlenose dolphins and about 70 false killer whales have been spotted off the western coast of Canada’s Vancouver Island.
